Change is good, but teachers can get lost in new fads and band wagons that fill the internet and forget that the ultimate goal of instruction is student success. Instructional decisions must be purposefully made to guide the learning forward in order to meet the cognitive rigor of the standards and lessons must be built around realizable situations that bring meaning to the task of learning to think mathematically.
